CH 10 section 1:
     1. The basis of the economies of many Latin American countries is selling goods to other countries.
     2.  The causes of Latin America’s economically dependent status are unevenly distributed farmland, economic inequality, and dependence upon export products. The consequences are if droughts, floods, or volcanic eruptions destroy a countries cash crop, the damage to that countries economy causes great hardship.

Creative Writing: NAFTA has helped boost exports, increase international investments, and create new jobs. However, none of the benefits of the trade agreement flow down to the poor.

CH 10 section 2:

     2.  The challenges that are posed by the growth of Latin America’s urban population are some people are forced to live in shantytowns that are often located on dangerous slopes or wetlands.
