Chapter 16 homework

CH 16 section 1:
     1. Agriculture, industry, transportation, and communications in Russia have changed since the breakup of the Soviet Union becuase its Command Economy fell apart.
     2.   Global communities mad elarge loans to Russia in its time of need.

Creative Writing: Russia has made its transition to a market economy by avoiding over spending on the armed forces and at the expense of overall economic growth,

CH 16 section 2:
     1. Russia manages its natural resources by manageing their forests by using the World Bank's Sustainable Forestry Pilot Project.
     2. Environmental challenges for Russia's future might include fish populations shrinking.

Creative Writing:  Pollution has affected the live's of its people by leading to global warming. This could put the entire world in jeapardy by producing a massive ammount of a powerful greenhouse gas.

Chapter 15 homework

Chapter 15 section 1:
     1. In Post Soviet Russia traditional religions were offered more freedom than other religions. Gradually the religous restrictions havce lessened.
     2.Russia's major ethnic groups are the Slavs, Caucasian people, and Turkic people.
Creative Writing: Now our education is better. Today's education offers more emphasis on language, history, and literature. I have more freedom choosing which school I want to go to. Also, learning is more balanced these days.

Chapter 15 section 2:
     1. East Slavic people are the ancestors of ehnic Russians. 1. East Slavic people are the ancestors of ehnic Russians.
     2. The Soviet Union's war in Afghanistan badly overstretched their military and demoralized their military. The Soviet Union's economy was very inefficient. In trying to keep up with the West in the Cold War arms race, the Soviets sent themselves into the ground.
Creative Writing: The United States played a significant role in breaking up the Soviet Union. The major role they played in was the in the Cold War. They had this war because of the two competing systems- communist and capitalist - for world influence and power. The Cold War was from 1947 to 1991. The US also threatened Russia with nuclear weapons to aid developing countries.

Chapter 14 homework

CH 14 section 1:
     1. The land area of Russia is 6.6 million square miles.
     2. Russia's natural resources are fossil fuels and natural gas.

Creative Writing: With the number and size of forests depleting, it is important to preserve what we have. It is already really bad that forests are depleting, but on top of that, greenhouse gasses are increasing. In order to survive for as long as we can, we must preserve what we have.

CH 14 section 2:
     1. Major climates in the majestic kingdom, LOL, also known has Russia, there are several climates. They include Tundra, Subarctic, and Humid Continental. 
     2. Natural resources found in the Tundra climate are mosses, lichens, algae, and dwarf shrub. The taiga, a boreal forest, in located in the Subarctic region. In the subtropical region, mixed coniferous deciduous forests. 

Creative Writing: Today, like most days, suck eggs. I'm really cold, I cannot emphasize that enough. My new phone isn't getting any reception, and I'm pretty sure my feet are getting frostbite. All my war comrades are BAMF's, and they are dying off due to malnutrition. Christ, could things be any worse ?!
